Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM is a soft tissue release technique utilizing a small, metal scraping tool. Many know this technique by the brand name Graston, who popularized the technique for manual therapists. We utilize IASTM by applying gentle scraping to the skin of specific regions. This treatment serves to decrease muscle tension and improve joint range of motion. Percussion Massage Therapy

Percussion massage guns have grown tremendously in popularity, and for good reason. When appropriately applied, massage guns are very effective at facilitating quick changes in muscle tension and pain. You can expect to be introduced to percussion massage while working with both our Functional Movement Coaches and our Doctors.

Corrective Exercise Rehabilitation

Corrective exercises are the meat and potatoes of our approach to both training and therapy. We have found that clients who improve their postural awareness and movement control are able to find more effective relief from pain, along with surpass their expectations in athletic performance. Every client that steps through our doors will learn to correct their movement mechanics, whether they are working with a Doctor or a Functional Movement Coach. You will also be provided with a personalized digital exercise routine, so you can move more efficiently towards your goals every day from home.

Functional Training

Our functional training sessions are designed to help you recover from an injury, achieve improvements in your athletic performance, and learn how to get more out of your current fitness routine. When you come in for your first session, your dedicated functional movement coach will put you through a comprehensive movement assessment. We will talk with you about your specific movement-related goals, and begin to develop a tailored training plan just for you. Each training session will be 1-on-1 with your coach who will help you build body awareness, improve movement techniques, and bring confidence to new exercises. After completing functional training sessions, you will have with a clear understanding of what you need to implement into your own training and lifestyle to reach your goals.

Nutrition

Nutrition is energy source with which we power our movement practices. Our nutrition coaching is designed to help you provide your body with the right fuel to reach movement goals and de-flame your body to reduce pain. When you begin working with your nutrition coach, you will work together to set achievable goals and build a personalized nutrition plan that can easily be put into action. You can expect to learn how to keep a food journal, create new recipes for meals at home, and form a better understanding of how nutrition affects your quality of life. You will end each nutrition session knowing that your coach will be there to help answer questions and to hold you accountable throughout your journey.

KT Taping

Kinesiology Therapeutic (KT) Tape is a strong, elastic athletic tape that can be used to provide relief and support to muscles and joints. We utilize taping to improve your awareness of postural positioning in order to relieve painful symptoms and support your training.

Here are some examples where we have found KT taping to be effective:

  • Shoulder pain in throwing and swinging athletes.
  • Knees and ankles in runners and soccer players.
  • Low back in golfers and weightlifters.
  • Neck pain in desk workers.

KT taping sessions are quick and very effective prior to performing your athletic event. KT tape provides immediate results and can be worn for 3 to 7 days following application.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a therapeutic technique that involves the insertion of a thin monofilament needle into a muscle spasm or trigger point. This technique may elicit a “twitch” response in a muscle and improve blood flow to the area. Dry needling, in conjunction with other manual therapy techniques and active exercise, will relieve muscle tension, improve range of motion, and improve muscle activation. Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is a myofascial decompression technique involving glass or silicone suction cups being placed on muscles or areas of the body that are particularly restricted. These can be used statically or with active movement to improve myofascial restrictions, improve blood flow and inflammation, increase range of motion and mobility. Women’s Pelvic Floor Therapy

The pelvic floor muscles are a commonly overlooked part of the core when it comes to orthopedic conditions. These muscles play a huge role in the functional integrity of the spine and hips. Pelvic health therapy is especially helpful for women pre- or post-partum, and women participating in exercise. We treat conditions including, but not limited to: pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, diastasis recti, dyspareunia, pelvic pain, low back pain, and hip pain.
